our philosophy
We are committed to open standards. And of course, as you can see, we believe that markets are conversations.
We also believe in being “customer-centred”. To us that means inspiring and perhaps also reassuring our clients, building win-win relationships and using our common sense.
Online publishing
As Evan I. Schwartz once said, There are no physical limits in this virtual world: computing power and computer storage is cheap and getting cheaper, there's an infinite number of bits in the universe and a virtually bottomless hunger for valuable information and knowledge. This represents a huge opportunity.
However, you cannot just throw information up there and clutter up cyberspace. Anybody who constructs a website should make an effort to:
- write for the web. Online readers skim and skip. The copy must be crisp, the message clear, the information logically organized. That is perhaps the most valuable skill needed needs for online publishing.
- make the site reader-friendly and usable, build the website in such a way that your site users can find what they are looking for quickly and efficiently.
- make the website accessible to ALL Internet users, regardless of the browser technology they are using.
- make the site easy to find. Eighty-four per cent of Internet users said that search engines were their main gateway to the Internet. Optimize your sites for search-engine indexing.
Online marketing
Most people think that Internet marketing just involves having a sophisticated website. But online marketing is far more complex — and far more spectacular, if done the right way.
The website is just part of the equation. Having your email, street address, phone numbers and a list of products blended with a bunch of attractive pictures on a domain name may be a handy way to save print money and to fill that empty space on your business card. But if that is the only part you do, you are losing 99% of what the Internet can do for you.
We believe that Internet marketing is first of all about obtaining NEW clients. It is the most powerful tool you have to communicate your offer to every single person on Earth who might have an interest in what you sell. And if you do not do it, sooner or later your competition will.
You do not find customers. They find you
Internet marketing is defined as strategies and techniques applied on the Internet to support the organization's overall marketing objectives. It is just marketing, after all, and the old rules still apply.
But the greatest thing about marketing online is that you do not find customers. They find you. With the right strategy, you build not just an online brochure which proudly promotes all your corporate materials. You create a smart selling machine that fills your mailbox with orders and makes your company phones and faxes ring 24/7. See a case study
Build the website and they will come. Or will they?
Everybody secretly expects clients to roll up right after they have a website ready. In some magic way, they believe, people will start calling and say: “I found you on the web”. But it is not that easy. Perhaps you will get one call or two, if you are lucky. But a spectacular response rate takes knowledge, skills, time and money.
And finally: people use the net to find information. Information is mainly contained in text and photos. Compelling text is far more important than fancy design. After all, if an elaborate page has no substance, it delivers no value.
But we guess you already know that, in this business, content is king.
